More

we are a worshiping community of young disciples

Worshiping. “Take your everyday, ordinary life–your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Fix you attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.” We understand worship to be a way of life, not containable within the confines of an hour or so on Sunday morning. Worship is an expressions of love, gratitude, service, respect and discipline toward God. We seek to cultivate this type of life.

Community. “All the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. They followed the daily discipline of worship in the temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful as they praised God.” We are not a commune, but we are a community. We are together, sharing life.

Young. “Don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity.” As young people, we have a responsibility to set the pace for those we come in contact. We hope to us our energy to make a difference in the world.

Disciples. “Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters–yes, even one’s own self–can’t be my disciple. Anyone who won’t shoulder his own cross and follow behind me can’t be my disciple.” A disciple is a follower, yet more than a follower, a disciple is someone completely dedicated to something beyond them. We want to be disciples of Jesus. As a disciples, much is required. Selflessness. Openness. Willingness. Sacrifice. Love. We hope our community continues to be marked by these qualities.
